In Aviemore we worked with Connecting Carers, Highlife Highland Library and Leisure. .
At The Glen Centre in Aviemore, we explored using the Ipad using creative apps. We took photos and used the local library facilities to create and watch short movies, and gain digital confidence. We liaised with the HLH staff, and generated interest in running a weekly group over 6 weeks. This proved to be a resounding community success. Friendships have been forged, and some truly wonderful movies produced. One learner, filmed a local Museum Opening. She has been given an original, copy write protected, piece of music to accompany her film. It is now almost complete, and is due to be available to watch at her local museum.
In Partnership with Highlife Highland The Hub and Connecting Carers, we ran an awareness event. All those who attended the event came along each week to ourexisting weekly group. On the second week of attendance one learner shared a film he had made as his ‘homework’ and was delighted at the reception his film got. Other learners have gained the confidence to take more photos whilst on their holiday and now, can independently create films, add narration and music and importantly share them with friends and family.
