Home-Start is a local community network of trained volunteers and expert support helping families with young children through challenging times. They are there for parents when they need them the most because childhood can’t wait.  Home-Start works with families in communities right across the UK. Starting in the home, their approach is as individual as the people they are helping. No judgement,  just compassionate, confidential help and expert support is on offer.

We have worked with Home-Start staff, volunteers and service users.  We have delivered bespoke workshops and training sessions to better enable staff and volunteers to support their service users with essential digital skills. We have developed their skills in various area, including staying safe online (both children and adults), communication tools (what’s app, Skype, zoom, email) and how to engage with hard to reach clients.

Over the period of training with various Home-Starts across Scotland, staff and volunteers felt more confident understanding what digital tools are best suited to their and their service user’s needs as well as gaining a stronger understanding of why digital inclusion and participation is so important.
