Exploring digital inequality and online misogyny: practitioner insights
This report shares the insights of practitioners working with young men and boys, reflecting on the rise of online misogyny and how this relates to wider challenges of digital inequality.
Key findings underscore how digital inequality manifests: algorithmic manipulation, exploiting vulnerable “search engine starting points” (e.g., searches on relationships, mental health) to radicalise young men; the prevalence of harmful content within online gaming spaces, where digital access is often uncontrolled; and unequal access to media literacy education, leaving young people ill-equipped to critically evaluate online information.
Exploring Digital Inclusion with key stakeholders
This report summarises findings from co-design sessions and interviews exploring digital inclusion for women and girls who are victims of gender based violence in Scotland. Key themes include:
A Collective Response
The recent Audit Scotland report on Tackling Digital Exclusion highlighted that one in six of us in Scotland lack the foundation digital skills to unlock essential, often life-saving, online services and 9% of us do not have access to the internet at all.
In partnership with the University of the West of Scotland, Mhor Collective delivered the Evaluation of a Place-Based Approach to Digital Inclusion, through Digital Champions.
University of the West of Scotland (UWS) was commissioned with Mhor Collective to undertake an evaluation of Renfrewshire Council’s Place Based Approach to Digital Inclusion. The project had two main focal points, seeking to understand:
Assessment Report
This report provides an overview of NHS Inform training for language support team at Saheliya to support their clients (women and girls 12+) on managing their health online. With the increasing shift toward online health services, NHS Inform serves as an essential resource for accessing health information, booking appointments, and managing health conditions in Scotland.
The consequences of the digital transformations of the last two to three decades have been profound and far reaching. Their impact – magnifed by swift deployment and far-reaching societal uptake – has wrought signifcant changes upon our sense of self, relationships and interactions with others and with our wider environment.

As part of their commitment to TekCare, a Life Changes legacy project, Mhor Collective is working to develop the digital skills and confidence of the support network around young people who are care experienced, to ensure that they are able to empower young people to engage meaningfully in the digital space.
